Verification

A WEPD® Worldwide Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) or WCD Worldwide Climate Declaration can be carried out by independent and impartial verifying individuals or by organizations included in the accredited IAF international accreditation Form MLA agreement.

Individual Validators:

Individual independent WEPD® EPD verifiers are people who have the technical and language skills and experience necessary to impartially and independently implement Product types, Industry Knowledge, Technological Approach, Environmental Impacts, relevant standards, Geographical coverage and verification processes. These persons must have received training within the scope of ISO 14025, ISO 19011, ISO 14001 and other product standards and EU directives and must have been individually certified before.

Individual validators have made the necessary commitments to conduct their transactions in an impartial and independent manner in line with WEPD® EPD policies.

Accredited Verifiers:

Another way to verify WEPD® EPDs and WCDs is through the verification of accredited IAF international accreditation Form and organizations included in the MLA agreement. These organizations are accredited according to the relevant standards and carry out their verification activities with authorized verifiers. Accredited organizations carry out their verification activities directly themselves. In particular, these impartial and independent audit institutions are constantly audited and their accreditations are updated. Within the framework of IAF MLA mutual agreements, EPD verified statements made by these verification bodies will be validated.

The certification procedure for verifying Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) is known as the verification of an internal process aimed at preparing, issuing, and declaring EPDs considering established process instructions and valid PCRs (Process Control Devices) covered by the certification.

In addition to the validity of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs), process certification will be carried out by an accredited certification body upon request, particularly at the request of the declarant.
